“As Christians, it’s important that we learn to help in a way that is actually needed. Before we decide how we are going to love our community, let’s take time to understand how our community needs to be loved.” - Chris Pollard, City Movement Strategist

Our Deepest Need

The deepest need of every person is to be reconciled to God through repentance and faith in Jesus. At the root of dysfunction and pain in any community is sin. The expressions and effects of sin are many, both personally and collectively. No amount of good intentions, good ideas, or good organizations alone will fix that problem. The power of God must awaken the spiritually dead and revive the souls of the complacent. We must pray and proclaim the good news of Jesus as we love our neighbor in a way that gives evidence that our faith in Jesus is genuine. And we must live by example as we seek to teach those who believe how to follow Jesus in every area of their life. Through such means, the Lord brings about great transformation in individuals, families, and communities.
