Ministry to Internationals

Spartanburg is home to people from all over the world. Our international population is diverse and it’s growing. One of the needs that exists and the best ways to connect with those starting over in our community is through English as Second Language ministry (E.S.L.). You don’t have to be a teacher or have a language degree to help someone learn English and get the chance to share your faith. There is a ministry in Spartanburg called English Crossing that can help equip you to make a difference. For more information, click below.

Spartanburg is part of the Upstate refugee resettlement area. Refugees who have been screened at multiple levels and have endured years of transition in refugee camps arrive here each year for a new start. Many of them are Christians who have endured hardship or persecution in other parts of the world. Some have family in the area and don’t need much assistance to get connected and plugged into their new life. Others need to be welcomed, loved, given opportunity to work, and helped to put all the pieces of life in America together. World Relief is the local ministry that helps to make that transition a success. And they need volunteers to make it happen. Click below to learn more and get connected.
