CHILDREN IN CRISIS
Significant community transformation is often one generation away. By focusing on training a new generation to Love the Lord and live by His guidance, we aim to help break the cycle of poverty in many families and change the nature of our community. As God's people, we can visibly and tangibly put our faith on display by caring for the orphaned, displaced and fatherless children in our community. Spartanburg has far more children in need of families and a Christian influence than we have Christians who have stepped up to meet the need. We have a simple challenge for God's people: Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone. Below are several impactful ways to invest in the next generation
Miracle Hill Ministries
Christians can make their homes available to a child in crisis. Spartanburg has far more children in need of foster care than licensed homes in which to place children. This is an incredible opportunity for the Church to demonstrate biblical hospitality and care for the modern day orphan. Training, health insurance for the children and financial support is provided. Sidewalk Hope is a mobile kids ministry bringing mobile VBS-like kids camps to children at risk. People can volunteer Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:00-6:00pm. Financial support and donations for truck supplies are also incredibly helpful. The truck needs to remain stocked with bottled water, snacks and small inexpensive prizes for the kids. PS I Love You
PS I Love You Ministries is a faith based non-profit organization that desires to demonstrate God's heart in Psalm 68:5 to be a "Father to the fatherless." They seek to partner the God-given time, talents and resources of the Christian community to serve orphans and at-risk children. There are numerous ways to volunteer, including adopting a child, providing support for families who have adopted, putting together care packages and praying. Please visit www.psiloveyouministries.com for more information.
